1 Order processing & build time
Because each Murphy bed is custom-made, production begins after your order is confirmed and payment is received. Most beds are handcrafted within approximately three (3) weeks. Once your bed is complete, we'll contact you to schedule delivery on a date that works for you.
Build and delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Material availability, custom options, weather, and carrier schedules can affect timing. We'll keep you updated and reach out promptly if anything changes.
2 Local delivery & installation (within 100 miles)
If your delivery address is within our standard service radius — 100 miles of our Ringgold, GA workshop — our own team delivers your bed. At checkout you choose the level of service:
- Local Delivery (Curbside): We deliver your bed to your address and place it at a ground-floor entry point (such as your garage, porch, or just inside the front door). Curbside delivery does not include carrying the bed upstairs, unpacking, assembly, or installation.
- Local Delivery & Installation: We deliver, bring the bed into your room, and professionally anchor, level, and set it up so it's ready to use. We'll also remove the main packaging materials.
The service you select during checkout determines what's included. Pricing for local delivery and installation is shown in the builder once you enter your ZIP code.
3 Shipping outside our service area
If your address falls outside our 100-mile local delivery radius, we ship your bed using a trusted third-party carrier — typically LTL (less-than-truckload) freight or a hotshot carrier, depending on your location and timeline.
All shipments outside our service area are delivered curbside only. This means the carrier brings your crated bed to your address and unloads it to an accessible ground-level spot. Curbside freight does not include in-home delivery, carrying items upstairs, unpacking, assembly, or installation — those are the customer's responsibility.

4 Your delivery appointment
To make delivery day go smoothly, please:
- Have an adult (18+) present to receive and sign for the delivery.
- Clear a path and the area where the bed will go.
- Confirm doorways, hallways, stairwells, and elevators can accommodate the bed and its packaging.
- Provide accurate contact information so the carrier or our team can reach you to schedule.
If a scheduled delivery can't be completed because no one is available, access is blocked, or the address is incorrect, redelivery or storage fees charged by the carrier may apply.
5 Inspecting your delivery
Please inspect your bed and its packaging at the time of delivery, before signing.
- If you see any visible damage to the crate or product, note it on the delivery receipt before signing, and take photos.
- Keep all packaging until you've confirmed everything is in good condition.
- Report any concealed damage to us within 48 hours of delivery, with photos, so we can help resolve it quickly.
6 Damaged or lost shipments
We carefully crate and protect every bed, but transit damage occasionally happens. If your bed arrives damaged or part of your order is missing, contact us right away at [email protected] with your order number and photos. We'll work with you and the carrier to repair, replace, or otherwise make it right at no additional cost to you. Damage caused by transit or a manufacturing defect is not subject to any restocking fee.
7 Title & risk of loss
Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to your address (for local delivery) or upon the carrier's delivery to your address (for freight shipments). Reporting transit damage as described above protects your ability to file a claim.
